Ys: The Oath in Felghana

A prime example of how a game can age like a fine wine. This game does everything it sets out to do perfect. Even going back after playing modern Ys games, this game holds up. Addictive, catchy, and heart pumping music that gets you in the mood to hack, slash, jump and launch magic at your enemies. Hard as fuck! Some bosses took over 10 times to learn all their behaviors well enough to beat. Story was perfect. Nothing grand and epic like a long fantasy game. But that’s not what Ys does. It’s chunks of the fire-haired Adol’s life. If you’re looking for something short, about 12 hours, and don’t mind a cramping thumb from going 100% then try this out.
