Another great DLC. Kakarot was one of my favorite games last year, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting this DLC to drop.
This is brand new content to the DBZ universe. In the anime the events are touched on, but here…. here you get to experience it firsthand! As a huge Dragon Ball Z fan it’s another great addition. It took me about 10 hours to complete.
You start out in the branching timeline, the one where Goku succumbs to a fatal virus that destroys his heart. Android 17 and 18 lay waste to the Earth, and the only Z Warrior left is Gohan. Trunks has survived, and Gohan is training him.
I love how every story beat you get closer and closer to wrecking the Androids. When you finally do, however, you’re not done yet! The DLC actually carries on through the Buu Saga! A whole series of alternate events. It really showcases how strong Trunks can get. He wipes the floor with all the enemies that gave the Z Warriors trouble in the main timeline. All of these probably means nothing to someone who isn’t invested in Dragon Ball Z like I am so I’ll get to the point.
If you’re at all curious about DBZ or enjoy a visually fantastic, over the top flashy, and fun action RPG dive into the main game and play the hell out of all the DLC content. It’s a blast.
